Stakeholders' needs and use cases

This activity is focused on the definition of user needs and specification of use cases to be implemented in the project, taking into account business and operational requirements, current regulations and overall stakeholders’, users’ and costumers’ requests, that will be involved in open workshops, web-questionnaires and interviews.

Another objective is to identify the need for any new or modified standards and to make recommendations on how such standards or the reformulation of existing procedures might be addressed.

 After analysing the main trends of city logistics in the European countries, a deep analysis of the user needs has been carried out. The used methodology included:

• the organization of a workshop, in cooperation with the CityMove project, to invite all the relevant stakeholder to a public discussion on the issues that today affect the urban freight distribution;
• the distribution of a detailed questionnaire, customized for each category of stakeholders (shippers, residents, administrators, freight carriers, vehicle manufacturers).

Then, the use cases of interest for the project have been identified combining the outputs of the user needs analysis and the action domains of the CityLog solutions (infomobility services, enhanced vehicle functions and load units).
